OSTRAVA 1.7.2024 - eurocylinder systems AG (ECS), the new company of the Cylinders Holding a.s. group, will increase its sales above the one billion CZK by 2026. Already in 2025, the company should be approaching the threshold of 750 million CZK or € 30 million, which is about € 10 million more than before. The German manufacturer of compressed and liquefied gas cylinders, which is based in Thuringia, has experienced a long period of stagnating sales. Czech know-how and new products transferred to Germany from the Cylinders Holding portfolio will enable the growth.
The Czech group, which holds its position as the world's largest manufacturer of high-pressure steel cylinders and solutions for the storage and transport of compressed gases, including hydrogen, will expand the German subsidiary's product range with products from its hydrogen technology range. In addition, cylinders and kits for oxytherapy, rescue, food and diving. "Significant innovations will include bundle assembly of cylinders, SMART containers and a range of high added value services, such as non-destructive testing and cylinder inspection," said Cylinders Holding CEO Jan Světlík.
ECS will retain its current management headed by the CEO, staff and product range. However, it is expected to grow substantially. Both in its traditional products, which are high-pressure steel cylinders up to 140 mm in diameter, and in technologies and products transferred from the Czech Republic, including grinding balls for mineral processing and welded cylinders. But crucial for ECS will be the aforementioned development of hydrogen technologies and the production of sophisticated transport and storage units. "The starting point should be bundles for hydrogen for refuelling stations, but our ambitions aim further," explained Světlík.
Michael Dathe, CEO of ECS, has previously stated, "The product offering is complementary and the strategic partnership has various advantages and potential. We therefore look forward to future cooperation." Cylinders Holding is keen to work closely with the current ECS CEO Dathe and his team to implement the prepared strategy.
Cylinders Holding Group completed the acquisition of 100% of ECS last week. It bought the Thuringian cylinders manufacturer from the German industrial group Serafin, based in Munich. ECS will continue to operate as a subsidiary of the Cylinders Holding group with its own brand. ECS currently employs 115 people.
