Open Day at Cylinders Holding Attracted Thousands of Visitors

On Friday, May 1, the premises of Cylinders Holding and the Vítkovice group were opened to the public. The Open Day offered a unique opportunity to explore places that are usually hidden behind the gates of industrial facilities.

Throughout the day, visitors could explore several stations. Great interest was attracted by the production of seamless pressure cylinders at Vítkovice Cylinders, where people were able to observe the entire manufacturing process of products used worldwide. The operation of Vítkovice Hammering was also impressive, as it reopened to the public after years and showcased the power and precision of heavy industry.

However, the event was not only about technology. The site also featured a program for families with children, virtual reality experiences, hydrogen technology demonstrations, and presentations of Ostrava’s future development. Visitors could also enjoy refreshments, including popular grilled food, which pleasantly complemented the full-day program. A calmer atmosphere was offered by guided tours of Zámek Vítkovice, where people could take a break from the busy industrial environment.

The Open Day confirmed strong public interest in technology, innovation, and the region’s history. The entire event took place in a friendly atmosphere and offered activities for all generations.
