Pictures from History - Cylinders Transport

We are bringing you another part of our mini-series of historical photographs brought to life. Today, we will look at logistics, specifically the means of transportation of steel high-pressure cylinders to customers.

Currently, cylinders are shipped exclusively on pallets, which are loaded either directly onto truck trailers or into containers for multimodal transport to more distant destinations such as the United Arab Emirates, Australia, the USA, and others.


However, this was not always the case. Most cylinders were shipped by rail as so-called bulk goods and went directly to the customer, as shown in the attached pictures:
